Il Museo del Giocattolo Tradizionale della Sardegna condivide e abbraccia la definizione data dall’ICOM (International Council of Museums), secondo la quale: «Il museo è una istituzione permanente, senza scopo di lucro, al servizio della società e del suo sviluppo, aperta al pubblico, che compie ricerche sulle
testimonianze materiali dell’uomo e del suo ambiente, le acquisisce, le conserva, le comunica e soprattutto le espone a fini di studio, di educazione e di diletto».
Il Museo del Giocattolo Tradizionale della Sardegna non vuole essere un mero contenitore passivo ma un meccanismo attivo, capace di offrire una proposta culturale che soddisfi sia le esigenze dei bambini che quelle degli adulti, un museo per tutti, aperto al dialogo con istituzioni e realtà culturali altre, con espressioni artistiche e artigianali differenti, una realtà viva ed empatica in grado di coinvolgere il visitatore, favorire riflessioni e creare circolarità.
Il percorso museale intende diffondere la conoscenza delle tecniche costruttive impiegate per realizzare i giocattoli della tradizione sarda, raccontarne diffusione, usi e aneddoti. Intende inoltre attivare dialoghi sinergici con le opere ospitate in occasione delle mostre temporanee che attingono alla straordinaria produzione artistica e artigianale storica e contemporanea regionale, nazionale e internazionale.
The Museum of Traditional Toys of Sardinia shares and embraces the definition given by the ICOM (International Council of Museums)
“ A Museum is a non-profit, permanent institution in the service of society and its development, open to the public, which acquires, conserves, researches, communicates and exhibits the tangible and intangible heritage of humanity and its environment for the purposes of education, study and enjoyment.”
The Museum of Traditional Toys of Sardinia want to be an active mechanism, a museum for all, able to offer a cultural project that meets the needs of both children and adults, involving institutions and other cultural realities, with different artistic and artisan expressions, a living and empathetic reality that can involve the visitor, encourage reflection and create circularity.
The museum aims to spread the knowledge of the construction techniques used to make the toys of the Sardinian tradition, tell the story of the spread of toys uses and anecdotes.
It also intends to activate synergistic dialogues with the works hosted during temporary exhibitions that draw on the extraordinary artistic and artisanal production of historical and contemporary regional, national and international art.
